Lord and Taylor

So I got this amazing vintage Lord and Taylor sequined jacket at a consignment store for 3 dollars! I was so excited because I am not usually lucky when it comes to finding good vintage pieces. Because it is so glam, I wanted to tone it down by wearing it with dark colors. I think it came out alright but I want to try something bolder. Hmm... any suggestions?

FYI- short hair is totally liberating! For those of you who haven't tried it, DO IT. That whole, short hair has to go with you face myth, is bs. AND you save TONS of money on shampoo which in these difficult economic times is always a plus. :)

Sequined jacket, vintage. sheer gray top, express. shoes, Michael Kors (love him btw!)

Clown Face

Woke up extra early and extra groggy today to finish writing an English paper. BTW that h&m jacket is by far the best purchase I've made in awhile.

a quickie...

So here's a quick outfit post. :D I received a rather unpleasant comment today letting me know that my blog was "unoriginal". At first I was appalled but then I thought- criticism is always a positive , no? The purpose of this blog was not just to post outfits and talk endlessly about my clothes, but rather to share my love of all things concerning- fashion, love, and of course rock &roll (hence the title). I promise to be less insipid and more informative with future posts.

jacket, h&m. shirt and silk pants, express. shoes and necklace, vintage.

PS. Express has the best sheer t-shirts and they are super cheap. PLUS- harem pants on SALE!!

3.1 Phillip Lim (making leather shorts classy)

Badgley Mischka (the color schemes are superb)

Betsey Johnson (that zippered dress, those crazy floral prints!)

Cynthia Rowley ( gorgeous make-up)

Derek Lam

So this is my attempt at summing up fashion week fall '09. More of my fav. shows coming tomorrow.

FW '09- part I

So I've been checking for the latest updates on the shows. First designer I checked out was Alexander Wang, but I've got to say that I was NOT impressed. The only piece from his collection that is worth mentioning is this great black sequined dress. The shoulders are amazing and the all black ensemble is defenitely chic.

Next I looked at Jason Wu, Peter Som and Charlotte Ronson. Jason Wu's collection was pretty but what stood out were his dresses. They were gorgeous. Peter Som's collection was teeny tiny. He played with color and texture and managed to create some works of art (literally they look like canvas paintings...go check it out!) From Charlotte Ronson I really only liked one look. The clothes look pretty wearable though.

Jason Wu #2

Peter Som

Charlotte Ronson

A new favorite is definitely Erin Fetherston. Her collection was impeccable. I want every single piece. The clothes look like they were taken from a fairytale story book. It is a bit crazy but if toned down it is def. wearable. I strongly advice checking out the entire collection.

Erin #4

My favorite looks so far though have been by Yigal Azrouel. It is defenitely wearable and it sticks to my basic clothing guidelines: casual, comfty, chic. Oh and as an added bonus- they are neutral colors!! :D

my goodies

So I went to a consignment store near my campus yesterday and they were having a HUGE sale. I snatched a bag full of goodies for only $20. PLUS, I went to Target to buy the shoes and the bag. I ended up buying another version of the black shoes (better version in my opinion) and some tye dye jeans (finally!!). I'll post outfit pics this weekend.

Rainbow Brite

I must admit that I am scared of color. My comfort zone is black, gray, and white. Thus, I am experimenting with colored tights to see if that will teach me to embrace the rainbow.

Also, I was browsing the Target website last night looking for the new MCQ collection (couldn't find it) and I stumbled across these great finds. Should I get them? They are both reasonably priced AND will work with anything since they are black. Help!

Wayyy back when I first discovered Marc Jacobs, this dress was the epitome of my fascination. The swirly lines that transformed into roses and the contrast between girly and a little bit punk quickly became my favorite clothing staple. I just wish I owned this dress. I've looked for it endlessly- without having any luck. :( So for now the best I can do is imitate it's awesomeness (yes,it's a word!) and hope that eventually I will find it.

i need a camera pronto!

So my bday wont be until march but i'm already making a list of the things i'm lusting for this year. Granted the list is a little far fetched considering that all my friends are jobless and in debt (college is a bitch!) and my part-time job is not exactly a money maker. However, i have hope that by some miracle my adorable bf might come into some money and buy me a new camera. He usually takes the pics for the blog with his Nikon but he's been busy lately and so the posting inadvertently slows downnn. i still love you bb ;)

ANYWAYS, here are other things i really really want for my bday: (*fingers crossed*)

I would wear my docs with black skinnies, over-sized AA sheer white tank, leather jacket, and studded cuffs. *sighs* just look at how shiny they are...

I've always wanted drop crotch pants but have never found the perfect mix of casual/comfy/chic. These from forever 21 give me hope.

Silk trousers from Victoria's secret in black of course. I'd wear these with some chunky heels, fur chubby, sheer AA white tank, and a simple gold chain.

AND finally, Agy's hair. :D
